I worked on Mercy
Ships' vessel The Caribbean Mercy in
1996, and
again in 2005. In 1996, the ship traveled
from Wilmington, NC to
Puerto Cabeza, Nicaragua & Puerta Barrios, Guatemala for an Outreach. For 6 weeks,
we provided wheelchairs for the disabled & built wheelchair
ramps, dug wells, gave medical, dental, & optical
exams, and spiritual
relief.
After 6 weeks, the ship returned to America for a goodwill tour of the Gulf Coast,
including Corpus Christi, Galveston, and New Orleans.
These are some cartoons I drew of my time on board.
